Article Marketing, On Steroids

by Russ Moore

If you've been reading much about internet marketing lately, I'm pretty sure you have heard about "article marketing". In case you haven't, I'll explain it real quick and then tell you how to pump some more profit out of it.

Article marketing is simply writing content for newsletters and ezines. Your articles are published to thousands of readers along with a resources box that you design to draw visitors to your site (or an affiliate partner's site).

You can write about virtually anything you want, as long as you can find a related product to promote. If you can't really relate your article to a single product, you can use a mall or portal site.

Your resource box is basically a classified ad. It's your primary weapon in your article marketing arsenal. After someone reads your article they see your resource box and you expose them to a link to your product.

Long story short, article marketing works. You build trust and an instant "professional" reputation in your reader's mind by writing good articles. You *can* make some really good money just sending your readers straight to a product sales page, but it can work much better with just one minor adjustment.

Instead of just sending your valuable reader to a sales page and never hearing from them again, capture their contact info. To do this, you will need an autoresponder and an ecourse related to your articles.

For instance, if you are writing about child care and promoting an ebook called "How To Start Your Own Profitable Day Care Center" a great way to capture your reader's contact information would be to create an ecourse like "7 Things Every Child Care Specialist Should Know" and provide 7 days of valuable information.

Don't give up everything you know. Just "wet their whistle" by giving them enough to build their interest in the product.

Once your ecourse is complete and has been uploaded to your autoresponder start using a resource box with your articles that promotes your "7 Things..." course instead of your affiliate partner's website.

Now you are staying in touch with them and increasing your chances of selling your product for the next week... automatically.

Plus, you now have them on your mailing list. The occasional mailing of articles and solo ads to your list can add to your income as well, but that's another article.

One thing I have to add here...

Set your ecourse up in both text and html. The encoded pages of html look so much better and give your course a solid feel. But, you still want the text version for those who can't (or just choose not to) receive html email.
